What to Pack for Your Stay at Pecan Haven

Preparing for your journey at Pecan Haven is an important step towards your recovery. As you get ready to join us, packing appropriately can help ensure that you have everything you need for a comfortable and productive stay. During your time at Pecan Haven, you will engage in a variety of activities designed to support your recovery process. From individual and group therapy sessions to recreational and leisure activities, each day is structured to provide a balanced approach to rehabilitation. Our therapeutic community model emphasizes learning vital social skills, understanding addiction, and engaging in peer support, all within a serene and supportive environment. To help you focus fully on your recovery, we have outlined some essential items you should bring, as well as items that are not permitted on campus.

 

Packing List

Clothes

  • T-shirts
  • Pants (include workout pants)
  • Knee-length shorts (include workout shorts)
  • 1 dress outfit
  • Pajamas
  • Underwear
  • Socks
  • 1 pair of athletic shoes
  • 1 pair of flip-flops
  • Sweatshirt or light jacket
  • Coat (seasonal)

toiletries

  • Deodorant
  • Hairbrush
  • Toothbrush (non-electric)
  • Toothpaste
  • Body wash/shampoo/conditioner
  • Feminine Products
  • Laundry detergent
 

other

  • Insurance Card
  • Picture Identification
  • Personal blanket/twin comforter
  • Personal Pillow
  • Money (all money orders to be made out to Pecan Haven)
  • Stamps/envelopes
  • Snacks (nothing is glass jars or snacks that need to be refrigerated)

Do Not Pack

  • Yoga pants or leggings

  • Tank-tops, cut-off undershirts, or spaghetti straps

  • Markers, colored pencils, pencils, crayons, or pens.

  • Perishable items

There will be NO dropoffs after initial arrival except for water, gatorade/powerade, coffee, creamer, sugar, tobacco, or cash/money orders made out to Pecan Haven.

Not Allowed On Campus

  • Drugs, alcohol, or mood-altering substances, etc.
  • Electronic devices
  • Electric cigarettes, vapes, or Juuls
  • No makeup
  • Clothing with vulgar graphics, wording, or drug and alcohol references
  • Cut-off shorts or tight/revealing clothing
  • Tobacco products are allowed but must be pre-approved upon admission by a nurse
  • No energy drinks
  • Any medications, supplements, herbal remedies, homeopathic medications, vitamins, creams, lotions, etc. brought into the facility MUST have a valid doctor’s prescription to be administered. NO EXCEPTIONS.
